Growth in industrial production in Ukraine slows down to 0.2% in May

Industrial production in UkraGrowth in industrial production in Ukraine slows down to 0.2% in Mayine in May 2016 increased by 0.2% compared to the same month of 2015, while in April the figure was at 3.5%, in March at 4.8%, in February at 7.6%, the State Statistics Service has said.

According to a new reporting format, the agency said industrial production in May rose by 0.1% compared to May 2015 against 3.7% in April, 4.2% in March and 4.9% in February.

In general, in the first five months of this year growth in industry slowed to 3.1% from 3.7% in April and March.

In May compared to April this year industrial production fell by 3.7%, and taking into account the seasonal factor by 2.1%.

The decline in January-May 2015 to January-May 2014 was 20.5%, and in general over the past year industrial production in Ukraine was down by 13.4%, while in 2014 by 10.1%, in 2013 by 4.7%, in 2012 by 0.5%.

According to the forecast by Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, rise in industrial production in Ukraine in 2016 will be at least 1.2%.
