NABU establishes over UAH 100 mln worth of irregularities at UIA
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) has established facts of abuse by Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) in the amount of over UAH 100 million, NABU Head Artem Sytnyk said at a briefing on Wednesday.
“Each passenger paid $2 [as the fee] that the airline was obliged to send to the state, although UIA has not paid it,” he said.
Sytnyk said that the total sum of damage caused to the state was over UAH 100 million.
“Relevant documents were found and attached to the case,” he said.
As reported, referring to data from the State Aviation Service, the airline’s debt to the state for the period from January 2014 through December 2015 is estimated at almost UAH 150 million.
