Tax reform to focus on improving tax administration
Tax system reform in Ukraine will focus not on changing tax rates, but on improving the system of tax administration, Finance Minister Oleksandr Danyliuk said
"Our focus is to improve tax administration. We need to show business the stability of the system in place," he said at the fifth Swedish-Ukrainian business forum on Monday.
Danyliuk recalled that in late 2015 the country significantly lowered taxation of wages. They counted then on withdrawing companies from the shadow economy.
Over the past six months there have been some signs of business coming out of the shadow, but the issue of further decreasing taxes is not on the agenda, the minister said. At the same time, one should not expect any increase in tax rates.
