Ukrainian PM hopes share of hydroelectric power grows to 15.5% of entire generation
Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman hopes that the share of hydroelectric power would grow to 15.5% of the entire power generation in coming 10 years.
"The share of hydroelectric power of Ukraine's total generation is 8.6%. There is a potential to boost it to 15.5%. This is our 10-year goal," the government's press service reported, citing Groysman who visited Dnistrovska hydroelectric pumped storage power plant on Friday.
He said that the 10-year hydroelectric power development program would be put on the government's agenda in July.
"This means that during 10 years new hydroelectric power units that would generate high-quality and safe electricity for Ukraine will be opened," the prime minister said.
The press service of Ukrhydroenergo reported that unit three of Dnistrovska hydroelectric pumped storage power plant was launched during Gorysman's visit. The unit successfully reached its capacity of 324 MW.
