Russian firms, other companies retain 87.04% use of Ukrainian pipe import quota

Companies from Russia and other countries used up 87.04% of the allowed quota during the first eight months of the second stage of the import quota on steel seamless casing and compressor pipes, which was prolonged for a year and a half from October 1, 2015 to September 30, 2016, and the companies also received licenses to supply 16,977 tonnes of pipes, with the annual quota being 19,505 tonnes.

The Ukrainian Economic Development and Trade Ministry provided Interfax-Ukraine with pipe import data which was valid as of June 8, 2016.

The level of using quotas in November, December 2015 and January through March 2016 did not change being 82.03%. In April it grew to 87.04% and left unchanged in May.

The ministry said that Russian companies used up 99.99% of their quota and received licenses to supply 13,863 tonnes of pipes, with the annual quota being 13,865 tonnes.

Austrian companies received licenses to supply 2,672 tonnes, or 93.49% of their quota (2,858 tonnes).

Polish companies received licenses to supply 442 tonnes, or 34.42% of their quota (1,284 tonnes).

Companies from Romania, Slovakia, China, India, China and other countries failed to receive licenses.
