Statistics: Ukraine sees 0.1% inflation in May against April, 7.5% year-over-year
Inflation in Ukraine in May 2016 to April 2016 slowed to 0.1% from 3.5% April to March and 1% in March from February 2016, the State Statistics Service has reported.
Inflation in April 2016 year-over-year slowed to 7.5% against 9.8% recorded in the previous month and 20.9% in March 2016.
Since the beginning of the year, consumer prices have risen by 5.2%. In January-May 2016 on January-May 2015 the prices rose by 20.7%.
As reported, the government of Ukraine and the National Bank forecast a slowdown in inflation to around 12%, with economy growth at about 1%, in 2016.
Growth in consumer prices in Ukraine in 2015 accelerated to 43.3% from 24.9% in 2014, while GDP fall accelerated to 9.9% from 6.6%, respectively.
