Businessman Konstantin Grigorishin, a native of Zaporizhia, whose main assets are located in Ukraine, has received Ukrainian citizenship, an informed source has told Interfax-Ukraine.
The State Migration Service confirmed the information, adding that the implementation of the right to acquire citizenship of Ukraine by territorial origin is a subjective right and depends only on the will of a person and cannot be restricted by the state.
"The citizen of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Cyprus Konstantin Grigorishin turned to one of the Migration Service offices with a statement about the acquisition of Ukrainian citizenship in a simplified manner by territorial origin according to Part 1 of Article 8 of the law of Ukraine on citizenship of Ukraine, due to the fact that he was born in the territory of Ukraine," the department explained.
