Naftogaz head proposes making list of subsidy recipients public
Head of NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy Andriy Kobolev believes that the disclosure of the list of subsidy recipients will help reduce abuse in this area.
"There is the principle if a company receives support from the state it should ensure transparency. In our view, the same principle should be applied to individual citizens if they get subsidies and the general public should know this," he said at a round table in Kyiv.
According to Kobolev, an important task is to create a single database of subscribers, which reduce abuse.
He said it is necessary to abandon the issue of excessive subsidies, introduce seasonal coefficients.
According to him, the state should set up mechanisms for citizens' spending saved funds (from subsidies) on energy efficiency.
