PrivatBank (Dnipropetrovsk), the largest bank in Ukraine, saw UAH 211 million in profit in January-March 2016, while a year ago its profit totaled UAH 6 million.
The bank said in a quarterly report, net interest income in Q1 2016 increased by 33.8%, to UAH 740 million.
Total assets grew by 4.5%, to UAH 275.11 billion and credits and advance payments to clients – by 5%, to UAH 198.625 billion.
Share capital did not change being UAH 21.257 billion and net worth increased by 1.1%, to UAH 27.789 billion.
PrivatBank was founded in 1992. Its largest shareholders were Hennadiy Boholiubov and Ihor Kolomoisky as of January 1, 2016.
The bank ranked first among the 123 operating banks in the country as of October 1, 2015, in terms of total assets worth UAH 241.809 billion, according to the National Bank of Ukraine.
