Ukraine still plans to issue eurobonds under U.S. guarantees
Ukraine still plans to issue new eurobonds under United States guarantees, however the exact date of issue is unknown, Finance Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Danyliuk has said on the sidelines of an annual meeting of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
"First of all, we need guarantees. We have this planned," he said.
In April Danyliuk said Ukraine plans to return to external debt markets in 2018 due to the implementation of a cooperation program with the International Monetary Fund and reforms.
The last time Ukraine placed eurobonds was in 2015 under U.S. guarantees. The issue volume amounted to $1 billion. Ukraine in April 2013 (independently) issued ten-year dollar-denominated Eurobonds worth $1.25 billion with a yield of 7.5% per annum.
Ukraine in 2015 completed the restructuring of several issues of sovereign and government-guaranteed eurobonds for a total of $14.36 billion and EUR600 million.
