Ukraine's state debt 1.38% up in March in U.S. dollar equivalent
Ukraine's total direct and guaranteed state debt grew by $887.18 million in March 2016 or 1.38%, reaching $65.237 billion as of late March 2016, the Finance Ministry reported on Wednesday on its website.
The ministry said that total domestic debt increased by 0.99%, to $21.1 billion, while total foreign debt (not taking into account government warrants) – by 1.57%, to $44.128 billion.
In hryvnias the debt decreased by 1.76%, or UAH 30.56 billion, to UAH 1.71 trillion.
In January through March 2016, Ukraine's total direct and guaranteed state debt in U.S. dollar equivalent dropped by 0.38%, while in hryvnias it grew by 8.82%.
Ukraine's total debt shrank by $4.32 billion or 6.2% in 2015 and reached $65.49 billion as of December 31, 2105.
