Government proposes cutting customs duty on cattle exports
Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers has proposed that the customs duty on exports of young cattle weighing from 300 kilograms and pedigree sheep (live weight) is reduced from 10% to 3%.
The proposal is outlined in government's bill No. 4569 amending the law on the export duty on live cattle and raw skin registered on the parliament's website.
According to an explanatory note to the document, the measure would help to develop cattle breeding, stir up international trade and increase revenue of the national budget. With approximate exports of 20,000 heads a year, annual revenue to the budget in the form of the duty could reach UAH 6.5 million.
