Ukrgazvydobuvannia discovers oil field in Kharkiv region
Public joint-stock company Ukrgazvydobuvannia has discovered a field in Shevchenkivsky district of Kharkiv region with estimated reserves of 290,000 tonnes of conventional fuel, the company’s press service has reported.
The press service said that oil was discovered at depths from 2,100 to 2,200 meters.
Industrial oil inflow was received during tests of a well in Olivinska deposit. Some more promising layers were discovered.
The discovery was made using modern Petrel solutions of Schlumberger firm by UkrNDIgas Research Studies Institute specialists.
"Trying to boost production our specialists are intensifying exploration works at all potential oil fields. We performed only seismic exploration in the past six months more than in the four previous years. We're boosting exploration drilling. The expansion of the resource base is the key element of the implementation of the 20/20 program: to produce 20 billion cubic meters (of natural gas) in 2020," Senior Geologist of Ukrgazvydobuvannia Mykhailo Machuzhak said.
