Ukraine repays EUR 3.58 mln debts on membership dues – Zubko
Ukraine has repaid EUR3.58 million debts and paid another EUR1.4 million to complete projects at Chornobyl nuclear power plant (NPP), Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Services of Ukraine Hennadiy Zubko has said.
"Ukraine has also announced its additional contribution of EUR 1.4 million to the Nuclear Safety Account," Zubko said at a conference to raise funds for the Nuclear Safety Account in Kyiv.
In addition, according to him, Ukraine has repaid EUR 3.58 million dues that have not been paid since 2012. He noted the country fulfills its commitments despite the economic situation and military aggression.
According to Zubko, this conference gave an opportunity to make up for a lack of funds needed for the construction.
"This conference was necessary to declare an additional contribution in the amount of EUR 105 million," the official added.
"The exchange rate difference for this year has been paid. I think necessary funds will come by the end of construction," Zubko said.
