Ukraine should pass almost 20 bills to get next IMF tranche - Shymkiv
Ukraine, to receive the next tranche from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), should adopt 19 bills, deputy head of the presidential administration of Ukraine Dmytro Shymkiv has stated.
"As for the IMF: we need to pass 19 bills. Their adoption gives access to obtaining the next tranche in the amount of $1.7 billion from the fund, as well as additional guarantees of $1 billion from the U.S. government," Shymkiv said at a briefing following a meeting of the National Reforms Council in Kyiv.
The president of Ukraine has filed one bill to the Verkhovna Rada, another four have been adopted by the parliament at first reading, two bills are revoked and require revision, another 12 need repeated submission in connection with the change of government.
With regard to cooperation with the EU, some EUR105 million within the third tranche of macro-financial assistance is at stake.
"For this we need to pass five bills," the official added.
