Decline in vehicle production in Ukraine accelerates to 15.7% in Jan-March
Ukrainian automobile manufacturers in January through March 2016 tentatively produced 777 vehicles and this is 15.7% down year-over-year, the Ukrautoprom association has said.
In January through February 2016 vehicle output fell by 4% year-over-year.
A total 627 passenger cars were made (17% up).
Private joint-stock company Eurocar boosted production of Skoda cars by 17.5%, to 723. Four more cars were made by ZAZ, which is almost idle now.
Commercial vehicle and truck production decreased by 55%, to 140. They all were made by public joint-stock company AvtoKrAZ.
Bus output slid by 87.2%, to 10 buses made by Bogdan Corporation.
The association said that in March some 305 vehicles were made (70% up on February 2016 and 29% down on March 2015). A total of 254 passenger cars (71.4% up on February 2016 and 16.2% down on March 2015) were made. 252 cars were made by Eurocar and two by ZAZ.
Some 46 commercial vehicles were made by AvtoKrAZ (51.6% down on March 2015) and five buses by Bogdan Corporation.
Etalon Corporation, Chasiv Yar Buses and Cherkasy Bus made no bus in March 2016.
