Statistics: Inflation comes to 1% in March, down to 20.9% in annual terms
Consumer prices in Ukraine in March 2016 increased by 1% after falling by 0.4% in February and growing by 0.9% in January, the State Statistics Service has reported.
According to its data, during the year (compared to the same period of 2015) this allowed to slow down the inflation rate to 20.9%, the lowest level since October 2014 from 32.7% in March and 40.3% in January.
In general, for the three months of this year consumer prices rose by 1.5% in Ukraine.
As reported, the government and the National Bank of Ukraine predict a slowdown in inflation in 2016 to around 12%, while the economy will grow by about 1%.
Growth in consumer prices in Ukraine in 2015 accelerated to 43.3% from 24.9% in 2014, while GDP's fall accelerated to 9.9% from 6.6% respectively.
