Ukrenergo in June-July to announce second large tender to supply transformers
National Energy Company Ukrenergo intends in June or July 2016 to announce the second large tender to supply transformers, acting Head of Ukrenergo Vsevolod Kovalchuk has said.
He said that the second tender will be smaller. The company plans to buy from 10 to 15 transformer units, compared to 22 units bought during the last year tender.
Kovalchuk said that the term for submitting bids will be increased from 40 to 60-75 days. This is done to potentially increase the number of bidders.
He said that 22 transformers under a contract with ZTR will be shipped in the period from September 2015 through February 2016. It requires time to assemble and connect them. There is no need to hurry with the announcement of the new tender.
Ukrenergo operates power mains and interstate power transmission lines as well as the centralized controlling of the unified power grid of the country. The company is a state-run enterprise subordinate to the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry.
