International assistance coordinator institute should be formed in Ukraine – economy ministry
Ukraine's Economic Development and Trade Ministry stands for the creation of the international assistance coordinator institute in Ukraine. The institute would allow managing the raised funds effectively no matter what political changes happen in the country.
"Ukraine in 2015 gets over $3 billion of technical assistance. Control over arrival and use of the money is still bad. International assistance today is often provided without securing approval of Ukraine. It not always meets national top priorities, social and economic development strategies and tasks," the ministry said on its Facebook page.
The ministry is drawing up a bill on international assistance. Its adoption will help creating the national coordinator institution. The ministry is also designing a website with international assistance projects. The portal would contain exhaustive information on the registered projects and help tracking available grant opportunities from donors.
