UIA airline seeks fleet expansion by seven planes in 2016
Ukraine International Airline (UIA, Kyiv) seeks the plane fleet expansion in 2016, acting Director General Yevhen Dykhne has said.
"I want to say that UIA plans to have seven more new planes in 2016. They set a task for us to increase passenger flow," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Tuesday.
The UIA's press service told Interfax-Ukraine that the airline received one Boeing 737-800 (UR-PSM registration code) in late January. Another plane will arrive by March 25. The further plans will be announced later.
Dykhne said that the airport will focus on transit transportation in 2016.
"We have a large potential in this segment and we will develop it. We're doing our best to quickly service transit passengers. We're working with a base airline to help it to increase the number of transfer passengers," he said.
