NBU completes cleanup of banking system, allows withdrawal of some small banks from market
The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has completed the major cleanup of the banking system, however, it allows the withdrawal of some small banks from the market due to illiquidity, NBU Head Valeriya Gontareva has said at the 12th annual investment conference of Dragon Capital in Kyiv.
"We have withdrawn 62 banks from the market by sending them to the Individuals' Deposit Guarantee Fund. We've almost completed the cleanup, however this does not rule out that small banks will be still closing," Gontareva said.
