Statistics service records 0.4% deflation in Ukraine in Feb 2016
Consumer prices in Ukraine in February 2016 decreased by 0.4%, after rising by 0.9% in January and 0.7% in December, the State Statistics Service has reported.
According to its data, in annual terms (compared to the same period of 2015) this allowed to slow down inflation from 43.3% last year and 40.3% in January to 32.7% - the lowest level since February last year.
In general, over the two months of this year consumer prices in Ukraine rose by 0.5%.
As reported, in 2016 the government and the National Bank of Ukraine predicted a slowdown in inflation to around 12% with the growth of the economy being about 1%.
Growth in consumer prices in Ukraine in 2015 accelerated to 43.3% from 24.9% in 2014 and 0.5% in 2013.
