Public joint-stock company Ukrnafta has started drilling a well on the Verkhniomaslovetske oil field in Lviv region, the company's press service has reported.
"The drilling of the first well in 2016 has begun. The well will have a short section of the horizontal shaft (around 200 meters) and it is planned that the well will have a high coefficient of flat porosity. It is planned to launch the well in the middle of 2016. The projected initial capacity will be around 50 tonnes a day," the company said.
Ukrnafta said that the well was built thanks to a recent successful drilling of the flat well on the same field. This would add inflow of investment in the restoration of depleted oil fields on the territory and increase the recovery coefficient and the resource base of the company," the press service said.
As reported, this year Ukrnafta plans to drill three wells and renovate electric pump repair facilities.
