Ukraine improves surplus of foreign trade balance by 21.1% in 2015 - statistics
The surplus of Ukraine's foreign trade balance in 2015 amounted to $4.06 billion, which is $710 million, or 21.1% more than in 2014, the State Statistics Service has said.
According to its data, over the past year exports fell by 27.2%, to $46.65 billion, while imports by 29.9%, to $42.58 billion.
The service said that exports of goods in 2015 decreased by 29.3%, to $38.13 billion, imports by 31.1%, to $37.5 billion.
Exports of services over the past year fell by 17.1%, to $9.55 billion, while imports by 19.3%, to $5.14 billion.
Exports to CIS states were down by 40.1%, to $11.32 billion, while to other countries by 21.9%, to $35.33 billion, in particular to EU countries by 25%, to $15.29 billion.
At the same time, the decline in imports from the CIS amounted to 39%, whereas from other countries, including the EU countries, by 25.8-26%.
