Ukraine actively working to lower dependence on nuclear fuel supplies from Russia - energy minister
Ukraine is determined to significantly lower its dependence on supplies of nuclear fuel from Russia within the next two or three years, Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn has said.
"We are actively working in the nuclear industry segment and are lowering our dependence on nuclear fuel supplies. As I see it, this is the last area in which Ukraine still significantly depends on Russia. I am sure, however, that this issue can be resolved within the next two or three years," Demchyshyn said at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada fuel and energy sector committee.
