Construction of Nord Stream-2 will destroy Ukrainian route for gas supply to EU - Kobolev
The construction of the Nord Stream-2 pipeline will destroy the Ukrainian route of gas transportation to the EU, the press service of Naftogaz Ukrainy wrote on Twitter, with reference to its head Andriy Kobolev.
"If the Nord Stream-2 pipeline is built, the Ukrainian route will cease to exist. The European Union would sacrifice the existing transport capacity of 151 billion cubic meters in favor of the new 55 billion cubic meters 'to cover a future growth of demand'," the press service said.
As reported, the Nord Stream-2 project includes the construction of two lines of an offshore gas pipeline with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year from Russia to Germany under the Baltic Sea.
