Ukraine cuts processing of grapes by 15.2% in 2015
Ukraine in 2015 processed 194,029 tonnes of grapes for wine materials (excluding the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol), which is 15.2% less than in 2014.
According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, companies in 2015 reduced production of wine materials by 6.4%, to 14.104 million decaliters (dal), in particular for wine production 6.142 million decaliters (1.9% less than in 2014).
In 2015 companies in Mykolaiv region reduced processing of grapes by 0.7%, to 44,365 tonnes, Odesa region by 18.4%, to 114,134 tonnes, Kherson region by 20.4%, to 28,770 tonnes.
Production of wine materials in Mykolaiv region fell by 1%, to 3,198 dal, Odesa region by 6.1%, to 8,527 dal, Kherson region by 16%, to 1,975 dal.
Grapes processing and production of wine materials in Zakarpattia and Zaporizhia regions are not specified to ensure compliance with the requirements of the law of Ukraine on state statistics in part of confidentiality of information.
