Gazprom bills Naftogaz $2.55 bln for Q3, 2015 under take-or-pay terms

Gazprom has presented Ukraine's Naftogaz with a $2.55 billion take-or-pay bill for Q3, 2015.

Gazprom said the minimum annual amount of gas in Q3 was 10.485 billion cubic meters (bcm) and in view of this and the volume of gas that Gazprom supplied in Q3, a bill for $2.549 billion was presented to Naftogaz.

"Gazprom expects the bill to be paid within 10 days," it said.

"Ukraine effectively decided against buying Russian gas in the third quarter, and there were no agreements to waive the take or pay requirement for the period," said Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller.

This requirement did not apply in Q1, Q2 or Q4, 2015.
