Introduction of ProZorro public procurement system will save UAH 5 bln in 2016

The introduction of the ProZorro electronic public procurement system in 2016 will allow to save UAH 5 billion in the national budget, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatseniuk considers.

"The transfer of all public procurement to an electronic format will increase savings by several times. Even according to the modest projections, this year's budget savings will amount to UAH 5 billion, and next year the economic effect from the full transition to the electronic system will be several times higher," Yatseniuk said in the "Ten minutes with the prime minister" program on Sunday night.

He said this will be possible thanks to the introduction of the ProZorro electronic public procurement system, which has been in a pilot mode since February 2015.

"The results are impressive. The saving of budget funds has exceeded UAH 500 million. And this is due to the fact that today only 2% of public tenders are carried out through this system. After a complete transition of public procurement to an electronic format, we expect the savings of tens of billions of hryvnias per year," Yatseniuk said.
