Naftogaz contracts 1.7 bcm of gas to buy from five European suppliers using EBRD's funds
National joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy has contracted 1.7 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas from Noble Clean Fuels Limited, Engie SA, Axpo Trading AG, E.ON Global Commodities SE and Eni trading & shipping SpA as part of purchase of gas using funds provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the company's press service has reported.
"In December 2015 and January 2016, Naftogaz held 27 tenders and 17 tenders were declared valid. Naftogaz totally contracted around 1.7 bcm of gas to supply in the period from December 2015 to March 2016. Winners of the tenders are Noble Clean Fuels Limited, Engie SA, Axpo Trading AG, E.ON Global Commodities SE and Eni trading & shipping SpA," the company said.
The companies won the tenders offering the lowest price.
"Naftogaz contracted gas at the price from $188 to $211 per 1,000 cubic meters," the company said.
Naftogaz also contracts gas on the European market on the competitive conditions using own funds.
