Economy ministry anticipates small inflation in Ukraine early 2016
The Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine anticipates that prices will slightly grow at the beginning of 2016, the ministry has reported on its official website.
"Early 2016 a slight rise in prices is expected. It will link to the worsening of inflation and devaluation expectations due to tensions in trade and economic relations with Russia, the non-provision of the new tranche by the IMF [International Monetary Fund] at the end of 2015, worsening of military conflict and a certain tension on the currency market," the ministry said.
The ministry said that retaining potential of hidden inflation in the economy due to the effect of the low solvent demand of the public (postponed demand) remains the risk that could accelerate inflation processes early 2016.
