Energy ministry sends UAH 20 million to Lvivvuhillia to pay wages to coalminers
State-run enterprise Lvivvuhillia will receive UAH 20 million to pay wages to coalminers, the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry of Ukraine has reported.
"On Wednesday, January 13, the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry sent UAH 20 million to the accounts of Lvivvuhillia," the ministry wrote on its official Facebook page on Wednesday.
According to the report, the funds will be sent to pay wage arrears to coalminers working in the company.
On Tuesday, January 12, around 300 coalminers from the Lvivvuhillia's coalmines blocked the Lviv-Zhovkva-Rava-Ruska highway to protest, as wages have not been paid for November 2015.
On Wednesday, January 13, the coalmines again blocked the Lviv-Rava-Ruska highway.
According to the head of the coalminers' trade union, Mykhailo Volynets, the debt to the Lvivvuhillia's coalminers for November 2015 is UAH 58.2 million.
