Oschadbank early repays UAH 1.589 bln of refinancing to NBU
State-owned Oschadbank (Kyiv) has early repaid the refinancing credit of UAH 1.589 billion to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), the bank's press service has reported.
"For the third time in the past five months Oschadbank early returns the refinancing credit of the NBU, this time UAH 1.589 billion," Oschadbank Board Chairman Andriy Pyshny has said.
He said that this would help cutting the debt burden on the NBU's credits and reducing the cost of the resource base of the bank.
According to the report, in 2015, the fixed-term resource base of Oschadbank grew by UAH 8 billion (not taking into account exchange rate differences), including UAH 5.5 billion of fixed-term deposits of individuals.
Oschadbank said that in 2015, the bank paid debt on refinancing credits from the NBU worth UAH 5.5 billion and UAH 3.5 billion was paid early.
Oschadbank was founded in 1991. Its sole owner is the state.
Oschadbank ranked second among 123 operating banks in the country on October 1, 2015 by total assets (UAH 156.596 billion), according to the NBU.
