Fiscal Service warns of responsibility for banned goods smuggling from Russia
The State Fiscal Service of Ukraine has warned of responsibility for the smuggling of prohibited goods from the Russian Federation, the agency has reported.
The service noted that the Cabinet of Ministers by its decree approved a list of products originating in the Russian Federation, the import of which to the territory of Ukraine is prohibited from January 10, 2016.
"Thus, if the goods are moved in violation of customs regulations, measures will be taken to record the offense and bring the persons committing the offense to justice," reads the report.
The service notes that the movement of goods prohibited or restricted by law across the "green corridor" or goods in excess of a tax-free norm a fine of 100 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens will be imposed, while prohibited or restricted goods will be confiscated. If the move was happening outside customs control or with concealment from control, a fine of 100% of the value of goods is applied to the offender, while the goods are confiscated. Transport used for smuggling will be confiscated as well.
