Defense Ministry buys 400,000 missiles and shells, nearly 4,000 pieces of armaments and hardware in 2015
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry signed over 100 contracts and additional agreements with state enterprises under the plan of 2015 government defense contracts to a total sum exceeding UAH five billion.
"As a result, 3,756 pieces of armaments and military hardware and almost 402,500 missiles and shells were procured for the Ukrainian Armed Forces," head of the ministry's press and communication department Oksana Havryliuk said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.
As of December 29, combatant status has been granted to 101,580 servicemen and employees of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, she said.
