NABU investigating 20 cases, progress on some high-profile cases expected in Jan 2016 - Sytnyk
Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) Artem Sytnyk hopes for progress in the investigation of high-profile cases by the bureau investigators in January 2016.
"There are certain achievements. Maybe, some persons will be caught red-handed by the New Year. But the main priority is the investigation of the proceedings included on the results of the analytical work of investigating officers, namely Odesa port-side chemical plant, Zhytomyrski Lasoschi, those state-owned enterprises, through which billions of hryvnias are derived," Sytnyk told reporters in Kyiv.
He stressed that these cases "sound familiar, are accompanied by loud, sometimes not backed political statements."
"These cases are complicated and there will be some progress on them in January 2016," he said.
In general, currently there are 20 criminal proceedings investigated by the NABU.
