EU decision extending anti-Russian sanctions by another six months took effect

The decision approved by the EU Council by written procedure on December 21 to extend sanctions imposed on Russia until July 31, 2016 was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on Tuesday.

This decision came into force immediately upon the publication of the relevant judicial act.
