Polish stadium modernization company signs PLN 486 million deal on Poznan stadium
EURO Poznan 2012, the investment vehicle for the modernization of the stadium in Polish city of Poznan, signed a deal with a consortium led by engineering group Hydrobudowa Polska for the modernization of the stadium in the city for PLN 486 million, the company announced late Monday.
"The next phase of the modernization of the stadium will be realized by a consortium of companies led by Hydrobudowa Polska []," EURO Poznan 2012 wrote. "The offer placed in the tender was for PLN 486.05 million and was the lowest of the other four offers."
The Poznan stadium has been indicated as a venue for one of the matches during the soccer tournament, which is to be co-hosted by Poland and Ukraine. Construction work is expected to begin at the start of 2009 and the stadium should be given up for use in August 2010.
EURO Poznan 2012 was the first stadium vehicle to conclude a tender for the modernization of its stadium.
The second phase of the tender for the construction of the Polish National Stadium, located in Warsaw, was launched at the end of November. The National Center for Sport, responsible for the construction of the project, is expected to announce the results later this month.
