NBU sets hryvnia exchange rate outlined in draft 2016 national budget – finance ministry
The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) sets the hryvnia exchange rate outlined in the bill on the 2016 national budget, First Deputy Finance Minister of Ukraine Ihor Umansky has said.
"As for the exchange rate: taking into account the macroeconomic forecast and the program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and some programs with other our partners, the NBU officially gave us the exchange rate. This is not the exchange rate of the Finance Ministry, this is the official exchange rate of the NBU," he said at a press conference on the draft 2016 national budget in Kyiv on Tuesday.
As reported, the draft 2016 national budget is based on the average hryvnia exchange rate of UAH 24.10/$1. By the end of 2016, the exchange rate of the national currency could reach UAH 24.40/$1.
