Poroshenko urges parliament to accelerate privatization of state enterprises
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has called state enterprises a powerful source of corruption and urged the Ukrainian parliament to accelerate their privatization.
The press service of the head of state reported that on Thursday at the second meeting of the National Anti-Corruption Council Poroshenko said: "All TV channels report on corruption in state enterprises. We can overcome this by efficient privatization, appointment of independent directors and transparent forms of state control over the activity of enterprises."
"Unfortunately, the Parliament hasn't adopted this decision yet. Once again, I urge them to accelerate privatization," he said.
