Oleksandr Pysaruk is leaving the post of first deputy head of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) from December 31, 2015, reads a press release of the National Bank.
"Oleksandr Pysaruk became a real example of dedication and service to the state on the path of improvement and development of the Ukrainian banking system - from making unpopular but extremely necessary decisions on removing insolvent banks, as well as banks engaged in illegal activities from the market to the fight against one of the main problems in the banking system - lending related persons," the press service said citing NBU Chairman Valeriya Gontareva.
According to her, thanks to the highly professional work of Pysaruk, the NBU conducted stress tests followed by the recapitalization of the largest banks, achieved a significant progress in ensuring the transparent ownership structure and the disclosure of the ultimate beneficiaries of Ukrainian banks, introduced legislation to strengthen the responsibility of banks' owners and managers for bringing banks to bankruptcy.
