Ukrzaliznytsia proposes rising tickets for first class Intercity+ trains by 5% from Jan 1
Public joint-stock company Ukrzaliznytsia has proposed that from January 1, 2016 the fares for transportation of passengers in first class cars of Intercity+ trains are increased by 5%, Ukrzaliznytsia Head Oleksandr Zavhorodniy told reporters in Kyiv on Tuesday.
In 2016, it is planned to rate up some trains and this would bring additional revenue.
"The financial plan [for 2016] includes receiving of an additional UAH 654 million from passenger transportation, but this does not mean the increase in the fares. This is the improving of servicing, rating up trains. We change the approach to the notion of the interregional train. Today we carry passengers to the distance of 80 kilometers for UAH 10," he said.
