Tender commission defines Naftogaz as winner in tender for "last resort" supplier

The tender commission under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has defined Naftogaz Ukrainy the winner in the tender for selecting a subject, which will be entrusted with the functions of the "last resort" gas supplier, the press service of the holding has said.

"Naftogaz was the only company that submitted bids," reads a statement.

In the future the results of the selection must be approved by the Cabinet.

As reported, a new law on the gas market has been valid in Ukraine since October 1. The law introduces a new concept of the "last resort" supplier. This subject will be charged with a guaranteed supply of gas to consumers, but its rate may be different upward.
