Kazakhstan cannot export gas to Ukraine without agreements with Russia - Kazakh Energy Ministry
Kazakhstan is not able to export gas to Ukraine without agreement with Russia, Deputy Energy Minister of Kazakhstan Magzum Mirzagaliev said at a briefing in Astana on Monday.
"As far as gas deliveries to Ukraine, it needs to be understand that in order to send gas to Ukraine, first of all we need to come to agreements with Russia. We don't have such arrangements right now, we are selling gas at the border with Russia and now it is good enough for us," he said.
Mirzagaliev also said that by 2025 in the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEC), a united market for gas will be created.
"I want to note that we reached an agreement in the framework of the EAEC, that by the year 2025 a united gas market will be created. Accordingly, Kazakhstan, as well as our other partners in this alliance, will be able to trade gas on this market of this union. That is, we will be able to freely supply gas, for example, to Belarus, some regions of Russia, Armenia and so on. Given the fact that we are going to open our market too," he said.
