Ukraine imports batch of coal from South Africa at $57 per tonne – minister
Ukraine on December 5 received a batch of coal from South Africa at the price of $57 per tonne (at the port), Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Demchyshyn said in Kyiv on Monday.
"The first ship arrived on December 5 at night, the unloading was started, the quality is confirmed… the price is rather attractive - $57 per tonne at the port," he said.
Demchyshyn added that the existing contract to buy coal from South Africa allows boosting the purchase volume to any level. It is restricted only by availability of funds and the capacity of the port infrastructure.
