Public joint-stock company Ukrnafta plans to sell gas directly to ultimate consumers, Ukrnafta Head Mark Rollins said at a meeting of the parliamentary committee for the fuel and energy complex on Wednesday.
"I would like that Ukrnafta sells gas directly to ultimate consumers and I think that the company should be involved in trading," he said.
He said that the new law on the natural gas market allows the company to sell gas directly to consumers without intermediaries.
Rollins also said that a major role will be given to the gas segment in the long-term strategies drawn up by the company. The company plans to boost natural gas production in Ukraine.
He said that Ukrnafta plans to discuss various forms of cooperation with other companies to increase gas production.
