Ukraine's PM confirms Kyiv refuses Russian gas, Russia not 'cutting off' supplies
Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk ordered Naftogaz Ukrainy to stop purchasing natural gas from Russia.
"The government has made the decision to order Naftogaz to stop purchases of Russian gas. They did not cut off gas supplies to us, we are the ones who are not buying it. And this was done in connection with the fact that pricing offers from our European partners are much better than those from our northern neighbor," Yatseniuk said during a Cabinet of Ministers meeting on Wednesday.
He said that the overall volume of gas consumption in Ukraine has already fallen 20%.
