Energy ministry announces tender to select last-resort gas supplier

The Energy and Coal Industry Ministry of Ukraine has announced a tender to select the last-resort gas supplier.

The announcement was posted on the ministry's website.

Bids can be submitted from November 13 to November 19 (inclusively) and the bids will be opened on November 20.

As reported, on October 1, 2015 the new law on gas market took effect Ukraine. The law introduces the new notion of "gas supplier of last resort." The supplier is to guarantee gas supplies to consumers, however its tariffs could be larger.
