NBU to expand cooperation with Britain on return of assets, investigating fiscal fraud
Head of the National Bank of Ukraine Valeriya Gontareva has proposed the launch of a closer cooperation with Britain in investigating illegal activities in financial markets, as well as on the issue of returning illegally derived assets.
According to the website of the regulator, she voiced the proposal at a meeting with the UK Secretary of State for International Development.
According to the report, Gontareva's proposal was supported by the representatives of the British delegation.
The central bank head stressed that the return of assets illegally withdrawn from Ukraine and investigations into financial fraud are serious problems in the country's financial sector.
She noted the NBU plans in 2016 to hold the first international conference on the transformation of central banks, to which the heads of the world's leading central banks will be invited.
