Ukraine and Russia are ready to hold consultations on the lawsuit filed by Ukraine against Russia to the World Trade Organization (WTO) regarding restrictions imposed on exports of wagons and crossing points, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Trade Representative of Ukraine Natalia Mykolska has said.
"Russia has officially confirmed its readiness for such consultations. The date is being mutually agreed. Ukraine is ready for consultations. We prefer to report the date publicly after it is agreed by both parties," she said.
As reported, Ukraine filed the lawsuit on October 21, stating that since 2013 Russia has been groundlessly imposing restrictions on the supply of Ukrainian wagons, and canceling the relevant certificates. Restrictions applied to Kriukov Car Building Works, Dnipropetrovsk crossing points plant, Azovzahalmash and Kharkiv machine building plant FED. In this regard, exports of Ukrainian goods from group 86 fell from $1.7 billion in 2013 to $51 million during the first seven months in 2015.
